Islamabad: (RightNow). Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has nominated Dr. Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan for the position of President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir. This decision was made by party leader Nawaz Sharif, who instructed him to submit nomination papers.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb announced on social media that the party leadership congratulated Dr. Najeeb. This nomination is part of PML-N’s efforts to establish strong leadership in Azad Kashmir.
In the recent Azad Kashmir elections, PML-N emerged as the largest party, securing 31 seats, while the People’s Party secured 14 seats, placing second.
This nomination will play a crucial role in PML-N’s government formation efforts, as they hold 32 seats and maintain alliances with supporting parties.
It is noteworthy that due to elections not being held in Poonch and Sudhnoti, the government is being formed without 7 members.
