Karachi: (RightNow) In the drug case against Anmol alias Pinky, police have removed murder charges and included charges of manslaughter.
The police’s final report states that the chemical analysis shows the deceased died from drug use, but identification remains unconfirmed.
Prosecution sources indicate that police failed to address fundamental investigation flaws, recommending the case be shelved due to lack of evidence.
Police could not establish a direct link between the drugs prepared by the accused and the deceased’s death, though ice was found in the deceased’s blood samples.
It is noteworthy that the prosecution has filed a request to postpone the case due to lack of evidence, recommending it be shelved under Section 344 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
