Islamabad: (RightNow) The Senate Standing Committee on Housing has summoned the NAB Director General regarding the Sky Garden Project. The committee chairman stated that the former Chief Justice will also be summoned to understand the reasons behind the 2009 suo motu (self-action) notice.

The meeting discussed the issue of affected individuals not receiving land. The Housing Secretary mentioned that the Supreme Court took suo motu action immediately after the JV agreement in 2009.

The committee chairman questioned NAB’s role, stating that money was collected despite the Supreme Court’s suo motu notice. The affected individuals claimed they had sent money to the FGHA account from the start.

The FGHA Director explained that the Supreme Court ruled in favor of the employees three years later. The Housing Secretary noted that nothing substantial emerged from the NAB case, and no corruption aspect was found.

It is noteworthy that the committee has also summoned the contractor of Green Enclave One and NAB officials for the next meeting to gather more information.
