Paris: (RightNow) Former French captain Zinedine Zidane has been appointed as the head coach of the French national football team. Zidane will replace Didier Deschamps and lead the team through the 2030 World Cup qualifying phase.

Zidane stated that coaching the French team is a source of pride and a dream come true for him. Over the past 5 years, he received coaching offers from various clubs but prioritized the French national team.

Zidane is regarded as one of the greatest footballers in French history, having led France to its first World Cup victory in 1998. He was named the best player of the 2006 World Cup tournament.

It is noteworthy that Zidane won three consecutive UEFA Champions League titles with Real Madrid as a coach. Since leaving Real Madrid in May 2021, he has not taken on any coaching roles.
