Tehran: (RightNow) Iran’s presidential office accuses the state broadcaster of censorship, claiming parts of President Masoud Pezeshkian’s interview were censored.

According to Al Jazeera, a senior Iranian official alleges that state media censored parts of the president’s interview. They urge Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) to represent diverse political perspectives.

Mohammad Mirzaei, spokesperson for the supervisory council overseeing the state broadcaster, states that the institution should symbolize national unity. It should also fairly represent moderate figures from political parties and groups.

Mirzaei urges IRIB’s administration to take effective management actions and issue necessary guidelines to prevent future disputes.

It is noteworthy that the supervisory board’s statement follows a complaint from President Masoud Pezeshkian’s office about the deletion of some statements from his interview aired on state TV.
