Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi states Iran will manage the restoration of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing negotiations over military solutions.
Tehran: (RightNow) Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi announces Iran will independently manage the restoration of maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz. He stated that there is no military solution to the region’s conflicts, including Yemen and Bab al-Mandab.
Araghchi further clarified that negotiations are the only path to resolving these issues. In an interview with a state newspaper, he mentioned that under a memorandum of understanding, Iran will determine the transit procedures for the Strait of Hormuz.
The Iranian Foreign Minister accused the United States of violating the memorandum of understanding. He stated that the U.S. decision to take a separate path is not in accordance with the memorandum’s clauses.
He added that Iran is prepared to restore maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz to pre-war levels. Araghchi labeled military action against Iran as a threat to international law.
It is noteworthy that Iran has consistently pursued diplomacy and negotiations. Accusing the U.S. of military aggression, Araghchi stated it poses a threat to global peace.
