Islamabad: (RightNow) Talks between the All Pakistan Petrol Pump Owners Association and Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik have failed. The association has announced a nationwide closure of petrol pumps starting at midnight.

During the negotiations, Association leader Nauman Butt stated that daily price determination is unacceptable. The association demands that prices should be set on a monthly basis.

Chairman Humayun Khan claims the government is not addressing the challenges faced by business owners. He mentioned that their dealers are experiencing severe difficulties, and there is no consultation on government policies.

Humayun Khan further stated that government policies with OGRA and OMCs are misleading the public. He said daily price determination is not in the public interest.

It is important to note that petrol pump owners are demanding an increase in their commission and monthly price determination to ensure business stability.
