New York: (RightNow) The FIFA World Cup 2026 final at New Jersey Stadium will see the winning captain receive the original trophy, but they cannot keep it permanently.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino and U.S. President Donald Trump will jointly present the trophy, marking a unique tradition. This is the first time since 1982 that a head of state will present the trophy.

The FIFA World Cup trophy is made of 18-carat gold and stands 36.5 centimeters tall. It includes Malachite stone and was created by Italian sculptor Silvio Gazzaniga.

The original trophy is given to the winning team but is returned to the FIFA Museum in Zurich after the ceremony. According to FIFA rules, the original trophy remains in FIFA’s possession permanently.

It is noteworthy that the trophy is valued at up to $20 million, making it one of the most valuable sports trophies in the world.
