Doha: (RightNow) Controversial decisions in the FIFA World Cup favoring Argentina have angered fans. Supporters from Egypt and England have objected to the referee’s decisions.

Egypt accused the referee of bias after their 2-3 loss in the pre-quarterfinals. They claimed attempts were made to benefit Argentina.

The Egyptian coach stated that their team faced injustice. There are objections over a disallowed goal via VAR (Video Assistant Referee).

Decisions in the semi-final against England were also controversial. There has been a strong reaction on social media.

Experts have noted that while controversial decisions occurred, they cannot be termed as an organized conspiracy.
