The government changes NAICOP policy; no landing permit for expired cards.
Islamabad: (RightNow). The government has altered the policy for Pakistanis returning with NAICOP. Travelers with canceled or expired NAICOP will not receive a landing permit.
According to the advisory, showing a NAICOP receipt will not allow travel. Only valid NAICOP or visa holders will be permitted entry, without which travelers will be stopped.
Airlines have been instructed not to allow travel on canceled or expired NAICOP. The aim of these instructions is to ensure compliance with travel regulations.
Sources indicate that previously, under government policy, NAICOP holders were granted landing permits upon return. This new measure further tightens entry regulations.
It is important to note that NAICOP (National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis) facilitates Pakistani citizens residing abroad, but travel is now impossible with an expired card.
