Kohat: (RightNow) In the Malgin area of Lachi, a roof collapse due to torrential rain turned a child’s birth celebration into mourning. The incident resulted in 10 fatalities and 11 injuries, with several in critical condition.

Rescue officials reported that relatives had gathered at the house for the newborn’s arrival when the roof suddenly collapsed during heavy rain, trapping many under the debris.

Rescue 1122 teams promptly arrived at the scene to conduct rescue operations. The trapped individuals were extracted and transported to the DHQ Hospital. The deceased include women and children.

Following the incident, an emergency was declared at DHQ Hospital. There is an urgent need for blood donations for the injured, and citizens have been urged to contribute.

It is noteworthy that rescue operations have been completed, but the area remains in a state of mourning due to the tragedy.
