Islamabad: (Right Now News) Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has termed Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s recent statement as an insult to the sacrifice of martyrs. He stated that more responsibility is expected from a seasoned politician like Fazlur Rehman.

The Defense Minister said linking soldiers’ sacrifices to salaries is unfair. His words have hurt the martyrs and their families. This statement is irresponsible and unethical.

Khawaja Asif clarified that no one sacrifices their life merely for a salary. There is a deep commitment to ideology, belief, and duty behind it.

He further stated that the war against terrorism continues. Soldiers from the Pakistan Army and other institutions are embracing martyrdom. Calling their sacrifice a result of salary is not political criticism but moral insensitivity.

It should be noted that Fazlur Rehman’s statement has hurt the sentiments of thousands of martyrs, veterans, widows, and orphans. The Defense Minister expressed regret over this.
