Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Federal Constitutional Court has nullified the Supreme Court’s decision to demolish Monal Restaurant. This decision emerged in the case concerning the demolition of Monal Restaurant located in Margalla Hills, and the court has directed the trial court to decide on the land ownership.

The Federal Constitutional Court has accepted the appeals of CDA and the Metropolitan Corporation. The court clarified that the land ownership case is pending in the civil court, and the trial court will decide it. The court instructed that pending cases should be resolved promptly.

During the hearing, Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi remarked that several important legal points were not considered in the previous decision. The court stated that decisions should be according to the law, and irrelevant matters should not be included.

This decision is significant as it reshapes the judicial perspective on commercial activities in Margalla Hills National Park. It may also affect related legal matters.

It is noteworthy that on June 11, 2024, the Supreme Court, led by former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa, ordered the demolition of Monal Restaurant in Margalla Hills National Park. The restaurant was demolished following this order, but now this decision has taken a new legal turn.
