New York: (Right Now News) Pakistan has urged for de-escalation and continued diplomacy in the UN Security Council meeting on Iran. Pakistan’s Permanent Representative, Asim Iftikhar, expressed concern over the current tensions in the region, stating it is not in anyone’s interest.

Asim Iftikhar emphasized that war benefits no one and that diplomatic efforts must continue for stability. He urged all parties to exercise restraint and prioritize negotiations.

The Pakistani representative advised against rhetoric during mediation to avoid harming diplomatic efforts. He stated that Pakistan will continue its efforts to reduce tensions and maintain constant communication for regional peace.

It is important to note that progress has been made in talks between parties through the efforts of Pakistan and other mediators, which needs to be advanced. He further mentioned that negotiations and peaceful means are the effective path.

Remember that the US and Iran have committed to ensuring the implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Asim Iftikhar urged both the US and Iran to adhere to the MoU.
