Islamabad: (RightNow) The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has ordered the installation of video surveillance cameras in textile spinning units. This move aims to monitor the processing of natural, synthetic, and blended fibers.

FBR has instructed all registered textile spinning units to install cameras by November 15, 2026. The purpose is to provide video surveillance of fiber processing in open or unbaled forms.

Officials stated that this system will act as an extension of FBR’s Sales Tax General Order No. 08 of 2025 for enhanced monitoring of cotton. These cameras will be installed at specific locations.

The initiative aims to oversee production and identify unforeseen issues. FBR has directed vendors to integrate these cameras with their systems.

It is noteworthy that FBR had previously issued an order for the monitoring of cotton bales. The new order is an extension of that and will be implemented immediately.
