PTI retains its organizational structure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite governor rule, with Junaid Akbar as provincial president.
Peshawar: (RightNow) Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) announces the retention of its organizational structure in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa despite the imposition of governor rule. Junaid Akbar Khan will continue as the provincial president, while Senator Noor-ul-Haq Qadri will preside over party meetings.
PTI clarified that Ali Asghar Khan, the general secretary, will oversee organizational affairs in the province. The party stated that no changes will be made to the current organizational structure.
Following the imposition of emergency, authorities have not confirmed the arrest of Junaid Akbar. PTI claims their provincial president was detained along with other leaders. The Peshawar High Court has sought a response regarding Junaid Akbar’s recovery.
This decision comes after the imposition of emergency and governor rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The federal government cited deteriorating security conditions as justification for these measures.
It is noteworthy that the President approved the emergency and governor rule under the constitution on October 11. PTI has challenged these measures in court.
