Islamabad: (RightNow) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the draft of the new auto policy for 2026-31. The draft will soon be presented to the federal cabinet for final approval.

Sources indicate that officials from the Ministry of Law briefed the Prime Minister on the auto policy. The Prime Minister has instructed that the policy be promptly presented to the federal cabinet.

The new auto policy proposes maintaining a balance in the prices of local and imported hybrid vehicles.

Additionally, a certificate of duration will be mandatory for imported vehicles. This measure aims to ensure vehicle quality.

It is important to note that after the final approval of the new auto policy, its implementation will begin, bringing significant changes to the industry.
