Islamabad: (RightNow) The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced digital ID cards. Citizens can access these cards through a smartphone app.

According to NADRA, the Pak ID app allows citizens to obtain digital ID cards. Users must log in with their verified profiles to access the app.

Once the application is complete, the user’s digital card will be available in the app’s ID wallet. Biometric verification is mandatory to ensure the ID is linked to the correct person.

The purpose of the digital ID is to reduce the need for citizens to carry physical ID cards at all times. Identification can be presented via mobile phone for various services.

It is noteworthy that the Pak ID app updates include features for verifying the identity and documents of other family members.
