Syria: (RightNow) Israeli forces have conducted operations in southern Syria, searching homes and establishing a temporary checkpoint. Raids were carried out in the western Daraa region of Maariyah, while a checkpoint was set up on a road in Quneitra.
According to Syrian state media, Israeli military vehicles entered southern Syrian areas and searched residential homes. These operations took place in the rural areas of Quneitra and Daraa.
A checkpoint was established on the road between Ain al-Nouriyah and Khan Arnabah in Quneitra. Israeli forces had conducted operations in these areas a day earlier as well.
The United Nations investigative committee has stated that Israeli ground incursions and searches are ongoing, along with the establishment of temporary checkpoints.
It is noteworthy that Israel claims its presence is necessary for border security, while Syria and the United Nations have termed it a violation of sovereignty.
