Faizabad businesses face disruption as hotels remain closed amid protests, impacting traders economically.
Islamabad: (RightNow) Authorities in Faizabad have closed hotels and inns due to protest concerns. Shops and restaurants were initially ordered to close but were later allowed to reopen, while hotels remain shut.
Sources indicate that shops and restaurants were verbally instructed to cease operations by midnight. The business shutdown has impacted commercial activities in Faizabad, and travelers face difficulties due to the lack of accommodation.
Traders protested, stating that hotels were previously closed on September 20 and only allowed to open for one day. They claim that Faizabad is closed during every protest, affecting their business.
Traders express that continuous business closures are causing economic losses. They find it challenging to cover shop and hotel rents, utility bills, and employee salaries.
It is noteworthy that Faizabad is a crucial location between Islamabad and Rawalpindi, and restrictions have been imposed during past protests. The PTI’s protest and long march announcement have prompted security measures by the authorities.
