Arab and Muslim countries’ delegates walk out during Netanyahu’s UN speech, video goes viral.
New York: (RightNow) Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech at the UN General Assembly prompted a walkout by delegates from dozens of countries.
Representatives from Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the Palestinian Authority were among those who left. Delegates from other countries also joined the protest.
The Palestinian delegation had previously urged other nations to walk out at the start of Netanyahu’s speech. Some members chanted slogans during the session.
At least 77 individuals participated in the walkout, leaving the hall nearly empty. Netanyahu remarked that others could leave if they agreed with the protest.
It is noteworthy that upon Netanyahu’s arrival at the UN building, protesters outside chanted slogans and hung an effigy of him.
