Islamabad: (RightNow) The Federal Constitutional Court has requested records from the Supreme Court and High Courts regarding the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital. This action was taken under Article 175A, clause five.

A three-member bench, led by Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan of the Federal Constitutional Court, heard the petition against the Islamabad High Court’s decision. The petition concerned the provision of medical facilities to certain prisoners.

The Attorney General informed the court that the Federal Constitutional Court can summon records from any court in the country on questions of constitutional interpretation. The court ordered that records of any relevant cases pending in the High Courts should also be presented.

This matter is linked to Imran Khan’s transfer to Shifa Hospital, prompting the Federal Constitutional Court to request records of all such cases from High Courts nationwide.

It is noteworthy that the issue of Imran Khan’s hospital transfer was previously discussed in the Supreme Court and is now under consideration in the Federal Constitutional Court. The court has adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
