London: (RightNow) Dim light in the room at night can negatively impact heart health. A new study reveals that individuals exposed to 3 lux of light during sleep showed changes in heart muscles.

According to the European Society of Cardiology, the greater the light intensity, the more significant the changes in heart muscles. This light could come from mobile phones, digital alarm clocks, or windows.

The study suggests that nighttime light pollution could be a new risk factor for heart diseases. Researchers analyzed data from 11 thousand individuals who wore wrist sensors for seven days.

The research indicates that reducing light at night could be included in strategies to prevent heart diseases. Experts recommend keeping bedrooms darker.

It is important to note that further research is needed to reduce the risk of heart diseases. Experts state that nighttime light does not directly cause changes in heart structure.
