Pakistani corn faces low prices globally due to poor storage and infrastructure.
Karachi: (RightNow) Pakistani corn is being sold at low prices in the global market. The reason is attributed to poor maintenance and storage issues.
The head of Pakistan’s agricultural export organization, Muhammad Daniyal, stated that the price drop is not due to quality, but due to moisture and impurities. He further mentioned that ensuring a fair price for corn is their goal.
Muhammad Daniyal emphasized the need to improve agricultural infrastructure in Pakistan. He highlighted the necessity to bring storage and logistics standards up to international levels.
He stated that maintaining quality through better storage can make Pakistani corn more competitive globally.
It is noteworthy that while corn production in Pakistan is good, lack of infrastructure results in inadequate pricing in the global market.
