Mexico City: (RightNow) In a rural area of Mexico, a fireworks explosion during a religious festival resulted in 10 deaths and 60 injuries. The incident occurred on Saturday in the municipality of Temascalcingo, State of Mexico.

According to local sources, some individuals were carrying a straw bull effigy with fireworks shooting from it. This burning bull ignited a large stockpile of fireworks stored in a nearby church.

The fire caused massive explosions in the main square, leading to the collapse of several walls. Authorities reported that some people were trapped under the debris. Local media confirmed the deaths of 10 people and injuries to 60 others.

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico stated that the cause of the explosion is still unknown. However, an investigation has been launched to determine the reasons behind the incident.

It is noteworthy that in 2018, a fireworks factory explosion in Mexico resulted in the deaths of 24 people.
