Egypt’s Salman Khalil wins PN Fleet Squash Championship, defeating Nasir Iqbal. Vice Admiral Faisal Amin assures continued Navy support for sports.
Lahore: (RightNow) Egypt’s Salman Khalil clinched victory in the Pakistan Navy Fleet Club Open International Squash Championship by defeating Pakistan’s Nasir Iqbal. The final match was held at the Roshan Khan Jahangir Khan Complex under the Sindh Squash Association.
In the final, Egypt’s third seed Salman Khalil defeated Nasir Iqbal in straight games with scores of 12-14, 3-11, and 11-13. Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Faisal Amin was the chief guest during the event, and squash legend Jahangir Khan was also present.
Commander Karachi Vice Admiral Faisal Amin stated that the Pakistan Navy will continue to support sports. Sindh Squash Association President Adnan Asad also shared details of upcoming squash competitions.
He announced that several tournaments with substantial prize money will be organized in the near future. Players need to work diligently to succeed in these competitions.
It is noteworthy that former world champion Jahangir Khan expressed his desire for Pakistani players to qualify for the Los Angeles Olympics and win a gold medal. He encouraged players to focus on sports and hard work.
