Muzaffarabad: (RightNow) The Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly has approved the establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Chaudhry Yasin presented the resolution, demanding an impartial commission to investigate recent events.

The resolution calls for protesters to end their demonstrations and urges the government to take immediate steps to normalize the situation. It also pays tribute to the sacrifices of police and security personnel.

The aim of the resolution is to resolve the ongoing crisis and provide immediate relief to the public. There will be no compromise on the protection of people’s lives and property.

It is noteworthy that internet services in Azad Kashmir have been restored. The services were suspended on June 5 when the government declared the committee defunct.

The protest movement has been ongoing since 2023, with most demands accepted by the government in 2024. However, due to lack of implementation, protesters continued their demonstrations.
