Islamabad: (RightNow) Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf has announced Pakistan’s first-ever 4-year Hajj policy. He stated that this policy is a significant step towards fundamental and lasting improvements in Hajj arrangements.

Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, during a briefing, revealed that for the first time, a registration and waiting list system for Hajj applications is being introduced. Under this system, pilgrims can join the application list with only a 10% initial payment.

He mentioned that the quota for government and private Hajj schemes will remain at 60% and 40%, respectively. The registration of private Hajj companies will be based on performance.

The Federal Minister further stated that the expected cost of the upcoming Hajj package will be between 12 to 13 lakh rupees. Any changes in the Hajj quota will be under the authority of the federal cabinet.

It is noteworthy that the Ministry of Religious Affairs will ensure the supervision, regulation, and transparency of Hajj arrangements to provide better facilities to pilgrims.
