Islamabad: (RightNow). A petition has been filed in the constitutional court seeking an increase in minority seats in national and provincial assemblies. Advocate Naseeb Masih filed the petition, including the federal government and the Secretary of Law and Parliamentary Affairs as parties.

The petitioner argues that the Lahore High Court did not make an appropriate decision regarding minority seats. He states that according to the census, there should have been an increase in minority seats, which was overlooked.

The petition claims that the growth of minority and Muslim populations should be equal. Minorities have not received adequate representation.
