Baghdad: (RightNow). Saudi Arabia and US armed forces have launched intense airstrikes on Iran-backed militant group locations in Iraq. This action responds to attempts to attack Saudi oil facilities and US forces.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense reported that the Royal Saudi Air Force targeted militia sites in Basra, Wasit, Karbala, and Nineveh. The strikes included weapon depots and logistic centers.

Major General Turki Al-Maliki stated that Saudi forces conducted these strikes in full cooperation with US Central Command. The US Central Command also confirmed the attacks.

These strikes aim to protect Saudi Arabia’s national security and defend oil facilities. The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Saudi Arabia does not seek escalation but will not compromise its security.

It is noteworthy that over 30 drone and missile attack attempts on Saudi and US installations have occurred recently. Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi has ordered an investigation into the attacks and will visit Saudi Arabia.
