Peshawar: (RightNow) Flour prices have surged in various cities across the country, increasing the burden of inflation on citizens.

According to the Flour Dealers Association, the price of a 20 kg flour bag in Peshawar has risen by 100 to 150 rupees. A mixed flour bag now costs 2800 rupees, while fine flour is priced at 3000 rupees.

Flour dealers have reported that the rise in wheat prices is causing the increase in flour costs. The Punjab government has suspended permits, raising concerns of a crisis across the country, including Islamabad.

In Faisalabad, flour prices have also increased. Citizens have complained about the rising cost of bread, affecting household budgets.

It is noteworthy that in Sukkur, fine flour is being sold at 135 rupees per kg and chakki flour at 150 rupees per kg. Citizens have appealed to the government to control prices and ensure the supply of wheat.
