Washington: (RightNow) The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has announced the full enforcement of a naval blockade against Iran. It has redirected the routes of 12 ships violating the blockade.
CENTCOM stated on social media platform X that US forces disabled two ships that failed to comply with orders. To ensure full implementation of the blockade, two ships were boarded and searched.
US forces boarded the Comoros-flagged oil tanker Charminar in the Arabian Sea for inspection. After the operation, the ship was allowed to continue its journey.
According to the statement, US forces disabled the Mozambique-flagged oil tanker Lavin in the Gulf of Oman on July 24. The crew repeatedly attempted to violate the blockade and ignored multiple warnings.
It is noteworthy that the US resumed the blockade on July 14 for ships heading to or departing from Iranian ports and coastal areas.
