Petrol and diesel prices surge despite global market declines, with petrol up Rs 20 and diesel Rs 55 in a week.
Islamabad: (RightNow) After daily adjustments in petroleum product prices, petrol has increased by Rs 20.81 and diesel by Rs 55.36 per liter in a week.
According to the Petroleum Division, since July 18, petrol has risen by Rs 5.44 and diesel by Rs 31.05 per liter. On July 21, petrol decreased by 35 paisa while diesel increased by Rs 5.71 per liter.
On July 22, petrol rose by Rs 4.93 and diesel by Rs 7.15, while on July 23, petrol increased by Rs 6.39 and diesel by Rs 7.83.
Price hikes continued on July 24, with petrol up by Rs 4.40 and diesel by Rs 3.62 per liter.
It is noteworthy that on July 17, the cabinet decided that OGRA would set petroleum product prices daily based on global market trends.
