Nankana Sahib: (RightNow) In response to rising water levels in the Ravi River, district authorities have intensified safety measures. Six flood relief camps have been set up, including in Nawan Kot.

At Head Baloki, water inflow is recorded at 77,090 cusecs, with an outflow of 54,190 cusecs. The flow at Jastar remains normal with an inflow of 17,400 cusecs.

Deputy Commissioner Nankana Sahib, Rana Hameed, visited Head Baloki to review safety arrangements. Irrigation officials briefed him on the water situation.

Six flood relief camps have been established at Nawan Kot, Haider, Bhachuki Par, Haft Madar, Halla Waraichan, and Kund Rahim Shah. Rescue teams have relocated several individuals to safer locations.

It is noteworthy that rising water levels in the Ravi River have also damaged crops in surrounding areas. District authorities have advised residents to move to safer places.
