Islamabad: (RightNow). Pakistan has extended the airspace ban on Indian aircraft. The Pakistan Airports Authority has issued a new NOTAM (Notice to Airmen), maintaining the airspace closure for Indian planes until August 24, 2026.

According to the Pakistan Airports Authority, the ban applies to Indian-registered aircraft, airlines, and military flights. Indian operators and leased aircraft will also be affected.

Pakistani officials state that this action is taken under national security measures. Indian aviation companies will need to find alternative routes.

Experts suggest this ban could financially impact the Indian aviation sector. Indian airlines will incur additional fuel costs.

It is noteworthy that Pakistan has restricted its airspace to Indian aircraft since April 23, 2025. Many Indian flights have had to adopt alternative air routes.
