Islamabad: (RightNow) Legal proceedings have been initiated against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Junaid Akbar, and Abdul Ghani Afridi. The anti-terrorism court received a police report indicating action on the FIR from the November 26 incidents.

The police report revealed that non-bailable arrest warrants were obtained on June 23, but execution failed. Following this, the police commenced legal action as per the law.

According to the DIG Islamabad’s report, the charge sheet under Section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code is being prepared. It is in the final stages for court submission.

This case is significant as the court issued non-bailable warrants for the accused, yet police efforts to execute them were unsuccessful.

It is noteworthy that this action is based on the FIR filed against the accused involved in the November 26 incidents. The police assert that there has been no negligence or delay at any stage of the case proceedings.
