London: (RightNow) A diplomatic row has erupted between the UK and Pakistan over the deportation of grooming gang leader Shabir Ahmed.

Speaking in the British Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee, Minister Yvette Cooper stated that the issue has been raised with Pakistan multiple times and will continue to be addressed. She also mentioned other related cases.

Yvette Cooper indicated that if Shabir Ahmed is not taken back, visa restrictions could be imposed on Pakistan. This potential action may affect diplomatic relations.

Meanwhile, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andarabi stated that Shabir Ahmed’s case is an internal matter of the UK, and Pakistan will not intervene.

It is noteworthy that Shabir Ahmed, convicted of sexual offenses in 2012, was recently released from prison. This issue has now gained significant diplomatic importance.
