Karachi: (RightNow) Bakers in Karachi have warned of a potential increase in bread prices. They state that if flour is not provided at the government rate, they will be forced to raise prices.

According to the bakers, flour mills are selling flour at Rs 145 per kilogram. Despite this, they have not yet increased the prices of bread and naan.

Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon states that 1.7 million tons of wheat have been seized through a crackdown. He assures that the seized wheat will be provided at the government rate.

It is important because, following an increase in LPG prices last month, the price of bread and naan was raised by Rs 5.

It should be noted that due to Sindh government’s policies, there was a bumper wheat crop this year, but profiteers hoarded the wheat.
