Videos circulating on social media show Bellingham approaching celebrating Argentine players and slapping Valentin Barco on the back of the head. This led to a heated exchange and shoving between players from both teams.
Reports indicate the exact cause of the altercation is unknown, but Bellingham was pulled back by his teammates. He also had a heated argument with Messi and Rodrigo De Paul.
Bellingham, who performed excellently throughout the tournament, failed to impress in the semi-final. He was seen in tears as he left the field after the defeat.
