Peshawar: (RightNow) The Federal Constitutional Court heard the case of an MA graduate employed as a sweeper in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi led the three-member bench.

During the hearing, Justice Rizvi stated that assigning a sweeper’s job to an MA graduate is inappropriate. He instructed the provincial government to provide the complainant with an alternative employment opportunity.

The Additional Advocate General informed the court that there are no vacant sweeper positions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Justice Rizvi questioned whether the province is so clean that no sweepers are needed.

Justice Rizvi further remarked that employing an MA graduate as a sweeper reflects a systemic failure. The court upheld the Peshawar High Court’s decision and dismissed the appeal.

It is noteworthy that this case involved an appeal against the employment of an MA graduate as a sweeper. The court directed the provincial government to take appropriate action.
