Jordan intercepts 8 Iranian missiles, escalating regional tensions.
Amman: (RightNow) Jordan’s armed forces have announced that eight missiles launched by Iran were intercepted and destroyed in mid-air. These missiles were either within Jordan’s airspace or heading towards it, and were neutralized through swift action.
According to a military statement, air defense units successfully targeted all missiles. No casualties or damage have been reported as a result of this operation. Jordanian authorities have stated that the military and air defense systems remain on high alert.
This statement follows Iranian claims about targeting American military installations in Jordan. Iranian media reported that this action was in response to recent U.S. attacks.
So far, independent sources have not verified the claims from either country, while tensions in the region continue to escalate.
It is important to note that ongoing tensions between Iran and the U.S. are increasing security concerns for Jordan, Gulf countries, and around the Strait of Hormuz.
