Islamabad: (RightNow) Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has responded to the Public Action Committee’s letter. He termed the loss of lives in Azad Jammu Kashmir a national tragedy and expressed condolences to the bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.

Bilawal Bhutto stated that every Kashmiri life is precious. He emphasized that expressing concerns over political, economic, and constitutional matters is the right of the Kashmiri people. Transparent investigations into the allegations of violence against protesters and security forces should be conducted. A truth and reconciliation commission should be established with the consent of all parties.

He urged the commission to thoroughly review the situation and propose solutions. He appealed to protesters to remain peaceful and pave the way for immediate negotiations. Our foremost duty is to prevent further bloodshed.

The PPP Chairman stated that upon the commission’s establishment, the banned Joint Action Committee should withdraw its sit-in and long march announcement. The People’s Party is ready to play its role in resolving the crisis.

It is noteworthy that the recent protests in Kashmir have raised concerns among the public, and pressure has increased on the government to find a solution.
