Anika Jamal Iqbal Represents Pakistan in Miss World for the First Time

Lahore: (RightNow) Pakistan has officially participated in Miss World for the first time in 73 years. Anika Jamal Iqbal has been crowned Miss World Pakistan 2026 and will represent the country in the global competition.

Anika’s crowning ceremony took place at a hotel in Lahore, where Miss Pakistan Universal 2022, Dr. Shafaq Akhtar, crowned her. Mr. Pakistan World, Attaullah Gujar, was also present at the event.

The Miss Pakistan World Organization has been working since 2002 to bring women to international competitions. Head Sonia Ahmed stated that this participation is a significant representation of the country on a global level.

Previously, Pakistani women participated in other competitions, but this is the first official entry in Miss World. In 1989, Anita Ayub participated in Miss Asia Pacific.

It is noteworthy that other Pakistani candidates have participated in Miss Earth, Miss Supranational, and other contests. In 2023, Erica Robin participated in Miss Universe.
