IHC Takes Notice of Sheesha Cafes and Rising AIDS Cases

Islamabad High Court has taken notice of rising sheesha cafes and AIDS cases, summoning officials.

Islamabad: (RightNow) The Islamabad High Court has taken notice of the increase in sheesha cafes and AIDS cases, summoning the Deputy Commissioner and IG Islamabad. The court expressed concern over the rising number of sheesha cafes and the increase in AIDS and HIV patients in the federal capital.

Petitioner citizen Abdul Jabbar’s lawyer, Muhammad Sohail Khurshid, appeared in court. He claimed that many sheesha cafes are operating without permits in Islamabad. These cafes host late-night parties, contributing to the rise in AIDS cases.

Chief Justice Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar inquired why details of sheesha cafes are being requested. The lawyer stated that according to the Health Minister, activities in sheesha cafes are causing an increase in AIDS cases.

The court has ordered that details of sheesha cafes be provided and a procedure for action against violators be outlined. The Deputy Commissioner and IG have been ordered to appear in person.

It should be noted that the illegal activities of sheesha cafes are increasing health issues in Islamabad. There is a rapid rise in AIDS and HIV cases, requiring immediate attention from authorities.
