Washington: (RightNow) In the US Senate, Democrats have halted the annual defense policy bill, objecting to the Iran war. They criticized President Trump’s stance on Iran and the military cooperation clauses with Israel.

During the Senate vote, 46 opposed and 50 supported the bill, leading to its rejection. The Trump administration had proposed a bill worth over one trillion dollars, requiring 60 votes in the 100-member Senate.

One clause of the bill proposed appointing a Pentagon official to coordinate defense technology between the US and Israel. Joint research and production of weapons were planned, integrating technology from both nations.

Democrats stated that Congress should avoid advancing during Trump’s attempts to wage war against Iran. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer warned that passing the bill would empower Trump to continue the Iran war.

It is noteworthy that the US Congress is engaged in ongoing discussions about war strategies against Iran, with Democrats opposing the bill to prevent escalating tensions with Iran.
