Shanghai: (RightNow). A 19-year-old in China has transferred property worth approximately 280 million rupees to a childhood friend instead of family. This decision has ignited a debate on social media.

Reports indicate that the teenager, identified only as ‘Li’, registered his will at China’s Will Registration Center. His assets include an apartment and savings acquired after his parents’ divorce.

The young man stated his passion for extreme sports prompted an early decision about his estate. He expressed that if anything happens to him, his assets should be distributed according to his wishes.

Li clarified that he considers his parents’ current partners as strangers and does not want them to inherit his property, hence naming his friend as the heir.

It is noteworthy that under Chinese law, an unmarried person’s heirs are typically their parents, but a will can designate anyone as an heir.
