Islamabad: (RightNow). A humorous exchange occurred between a citizen and Justice Hassan Azhar Rizvi at the Federal Constitutional Court. During the hearing of Shamim Bibi’s case, a rural man approached the rostrum claiming Shamim Bibi as his wife.

Justice Hassan Azhar expressed surprise, asking how Shamim Bibi could be his wife when the file listed her as a widow. The citizen clarified that Shamim is indeed his wife.

Justice Rizvi inquired about the date of their marriage. The citizen replied that he could not remember the exact date. Justice further asked what he could recall, to which the citizen mentioned their marriage was 20 to 25 years ago.

The judge, smiling, asked which government was in power at the time of the marriage. The citizen admitted he did not know. The court remarked that the case was not his and asked him to sit down.

It is noteworthy that the court often witnesses such amusing incidents where citizens’ unexpected answers bring smiles to the judges’ faces.
