The Bakers Association has justified the increase by citing higher wheat prices, announcing bread at 20 rupees and naan at 35 rupees. They warned of closing tandoors in protest if attempts are made to control these prices.
The district administration has expressed concern over the price hikes. They stated that they will not allow the public to be deprived of affordable bread and will take action against unilateral price increases.
This issue is directly impacting the daily lives of the public. The increase in bread prices is adding to the financial burdens of citizens.
It is noteworthy that in various areas of Karachi, bread prices have also risen, with a 20-rupee bread now selling for 25 rupees.
