Islamabad: (Right Now News) The ban on LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) home connections is expected to be lifted in September. Sources from the Petroleum Division have stated that this will be possible after the end of the force majeure imposed by Qatar on supply.

Sources indicate that Qatar has enforced a force majeure on LNG supply until August, which has affected the supply. It is expected that after its conclusion, there will be an improvement in supply in September.

According to the Petroleum Division, a decrease in LNG demand from the power sector is anticipated in September, which could improve gas availability for domestic consumers.

Sources have mentioned that the final decision to lift the ban will be made after reviewing the supply situation. This decision will be based on current conditions.

It is noteworthy that due to disruptions in LNG supply, new home connections were halted in May 2026.
