Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan announced a new cabinet formation in 2-3 days, with local elections before October.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan Amjad Hussain Advocate has announced that a new cabinet will be formed within two to three days. The decision has been made to conduct local elections before October.
He stated that a transparent environment will be provided to all political parties during the elections. However, political challenges were faced after the electoral process. Contacts were made with independent assembly members for government formation.
The Chief Minister mentioned that the Pakistan Muslim League (N) has supported him, and ministry matters with the Istehkam Pakistan Party have been settled. The governor’s position will be given to the Pakistan Muslim League (N).
This step is crucial for addressing public issues. He further stated that if a no-confidence motion succeeds, he will sit in the opposition according to democratic traditions.
It is noteworthy that in 2016, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari initiated the right to ownership movement in Gilgit-Baltistan. Local elections have not been held for the past 20 years, making it essential to restore the local government system.
